MTV Tres' new programming lineup emphasizes musical discovery and includes the channel's first shortform animated series, it announced at its New York upfront presentation.
The bilingual entertainment channel is launching new music block "Fresh Music Mondays" and unsigned talent search "Dame Un Break."
Also introduced was satirical animated series "Lugar Heights" and "The Yearbook Chronicles," a documentary about young Latinos trying to graduate high school.
Returning programs include "Music My Guey," in which fans can get their video playlists aired, and "Descubre y Download," which promotes new artists on air and offers free downloads.
Other shows that are continuing include hip-hop block "Sucker Free Latino," car-makeover show "Pimpeando," quinceanera reality show "Quiero Mis Quinces," countdown/variety "MiTRL" and reality/video show "Karlifornia." "Rock Dinner," in which fans cook a meal for their favorite artists, and "Bust-a-Ritmo," in which people surprise others with choreographed dance routines, are also back.
MTV Tres claims 33.3 million total households, 6.3 million of them Latino.
